It was a long season, filled with injuries and other unexpected turns to boil the blood of fantasy owners. Here is a breakdown of the best and worst of the 2006-2007 NBA season.

Fantasy MVP: Kobe Bryant

• He was amazing, especially in the second half of the season. Shawn Marion, Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Garnett get honorable mentions.

Fantasy Most Improved Player: Kevin Martin

• The greatest thing about Martin was his high volume of foul shot attempts with a high percentage of makes. Martin had a huge season and made many fantasy owners thrilled to have drafted him or picked him up off waivers.

Fantasy Rookie of the Year: Brandon Roy

• Despite playing in only 57 games, Roy was hands down the best rookie out there.

All NBA Fantasy First Team:

• Marcus Camby (center); Dirk Nowitzki and Shawn Marion (forwards); Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash (guards)

All NBA Fantasy Second Team:

• Amare Stoudemire (center); Kevin Garnett and Elton Brand (forwards); Gilbert Arenas and Jason Kidd (guards)

2007 NBA Fantasy Awards - The NBA season is over, but it's time for our annual year-end awards. Our Sergio Gonzalez highlights the best -- and worst -- of the Fantasy season. [CBS SportsLine]

Fantapedia's Take: Keep in mind that this is from CBS SportsLine and not from us (ours will come out soon). It's extremely frustrating reading these awards when there's absolutely no disclaimer about what scoring system they're using. It makes a huge difference. Otherwise, I could give any name for virtually any award and no one could argue against it. The only name I think does not belong on the list they provided was Dwight Howard, third all-NBA Fantasy team. Dwight Howard scores a decent amount of points and boards a whole lot. His blocks were respectable this season, too. But his foul shooting is Shaq-like and his turnovers are atrocious. He's incredibly overrated in terms of fantasy basketball goes.

Most teams have about four to five games left in the season, so your chances of improving your fantasy basketball team are running out.  
 

Things to Remember:
 

If you're in a rotisserie style league, don't forget to get all your games in (if there's a maximum amount of games you can use). 
 

If you're in a head-to-head style league, remember to play the waiver wire like crazy as a lot of star players go on the injured list at this time of the season to either rest them for the playoffs, or to give younger players their chance as the standings are mostly locked in.
 

Kansas forward, Julian Wright, has officially declared for the NBA Draft.
 

Texas star, Kevin Durant, is expected to declare as early as Tuesday.  Durant averaged 25.8 ppg and 11.1 rbpg in his freshman year and is expected to go either one or two in the draft this season.
